From 5-13 May we will be at Grand Designs Live in London, stand B290 with Charter Oak Estates showing the brand new i-hut.

The i-hut is about to blow the socks off all pre-conceived ideas of what a holiday caravan looks like.  Available in a one and two-bedroom version, the i-hut conforms to the legal definition of a caravan – but that’s about all it has in common with the usual shiny white holiday homes.

The i-hut was the brain child of Michael Shaw and Gabi Ceriden Morse from Charter Oak Estates, and is made in Devon by us!

It was born out of a realisation that by working strictly within planning guidelines and using plenty of innovative design, we could create a holiday home that is practical, beautiful and able to utilise locations that were previously only available to outdated and unattractive touring caravans.  The i-hut is perfect for individuals looking to locate a truly unique holiday home somewhere with limited planning permission including perhaps on their own property.  It is also a breath of fresh air for holiday park owners that only have permission for caravans or touring caravans.

Beautiful both outside and in, the all-timber clad i-hut is somewhat of a TARDIS. The two-bedroom version comprises a double bedroom, loft double bedroom, shower room, fully equipped kitchen with hob, oven and microwave, dishwasher and washer dryer, dining area and living room – all within the legal size specifications of a caravan. Prices range from £29,600 – £45,000.

When Charter Oak Estates came to us with this design we were blown away! To have been able to design a holiday home with such an incredible use of space, with a truly breathtaking exterior and interior really impressed our team and we knew we had to be the ones to build it.  The i-hut is available in two versions; the one bedroom ‘road legal’ (which can be transported, but only by a heavy load vehicle – not a family car) this can be located anywhere that has legal permission for touring caravans.  There is also a two-bedroom ‘non-road legal’ version which can be located anywhere that there is permission for static caravans. As both homes are built by Pathfinder they are created using the finest quality materials by expert craftsmen, meaning if cared for properly they will last a lifetime.

The 42

The 42 is a one-off holiday lodge created by our home designers and our in-house interior designer Jilly, right down to the last detail, meaning that this home is truly limited edition!

The lodge is built using CanExcel cladding, which not only looks great – as it offers the deeply-textured look of real cedar – it’s also resistant to cracking, splitting, warping, splintering and buckling meaning it’s incredibly low maintenance. Much like the cladding the UPVC windows are durable and help to keep the lodge nice and warm on cosy winter evenings.

There are two bedrooms; a spacious double with ensuite bathroom and a guest room with two single beds, plus a second bathroom for when you need a long soak! Every piece of furniture and the appliances in The 42 have been hand-picked by Jilly including the beds, integrated fridge freezer and washing machine. In addition to the appliances the high-gloss finished kitchen boasts an in-built electric oven and gas hob – all included.
In The 42 every inch is used effectively which is why the home comes with an oak effect dining set that sits perfectly between the kitchen and lounge. The lounge itself comes with a luxury L-shaped sofa perfect for diving into after a long day walking in the country.

The four large windows at the end of the lounge and the French doors mean that you can certainly make the very most of your natural surroundings – wherever you decide to live in your dream home.
The 42 comes with everything you could imagine – and probably a bit more, all you need to bring are your holiday essentials!

At this year’s Stoneleigh Show in June we will not only be presenting four new homes, but we will also be showing three of those homes alongside prestigious park owners and operators – so that visitors can get all the information they need on holiday home and residential park living from the experts.

We will have a two bedroom version of The View which we will be showing with the owners of Woodlands Country Park, a tranquil oasis just outside the popular market town of Garstang, in Lancashire.  The View is proving to be an incredibly popular home for Pathfinder, so much so that at Stoneleigh we will also be showing a three bedroom version with representatives from The Warren, one of Haulfryn’s most exclusive holiday home locations, nestled on the Welsh coast.

In addition to The View, we will be proudly presenting The High View, alongside The Dream Lodge Group, which owns and operates some outstanding parks throughout the South of England. Much like The View the front of the open-plan living area in The High View is completely glazed, which really brings the outside in. But The High View features a raised living room area which can help to make even more of the views available at one of The Dream Lodge Group’s beautiful parks.

The fourth home on show is our brand new residential home, The Gatehouse, which is being unveiled for the very first time.  We’re busy putting the finishing touches to this beautiful home and we can’t wait to see what everyone thinks of it in June!

On Sunday 8th and Monday 9th April we will be at the beautiful Raywell Hall Country Lodge Park for its open days. The 35-acre park is located in the heart of East Yorkshire within the Raywell House Estate, adjacent to its stunning 19th century manor house.

There are two areas of the park – The Woodlands and The Pastures. The Woodlands consists of 25 plots, ten metres apart, surrounding an ornamental lake with a soothing waterfall.  The open weekend will celebrate the official launch of The Pastures, the new area which will have 33 plots surrounding the lake.

You are invited to come and join us from 11am to 5pm on either day (or both!) for a guided tour of this secluded retreat. As well as being able to view the park you will also be able to see our Pathfinder Holicombe home, which is now available at the park. The Holicombe’s full height panoramic windows and French doors flood the living area with natural light and at Raywell Hall Country Lodge Park they also allow for fantastic views out over the rolling Yorkshire countryside and the lake.

All visitors will be entered into a prize draw to WIN a luxury two night break in our Holicombe lodge at Raywell Hall – so you can get a real feel for life in your new dream lodge!

Our friends at Bywaves an exclusive, private development of 11 luxury lodges with direct beach access at Bracklesham Bay, are holding an OPEN WEEKEND from 31^st March – 1^st April and we’re going to be there!

The stunning park is right on the water’s edge in one of the country’s most sought after beachside locations. The beautiful Bracklesham lodge with its two bedrooms, en-suite and family bathrooms, fully fitted kitchen and floor to apex glazed lounge is based on our popular Beach Retreat home.  As with all our designs, each home is built to the customer’s exact specifications which is why Bywaves decided to re-name this home, after making all their desired changes – ensuring the new Bracklesham Lodge is perfectly at home in the park.

I had played squash for nearly 30 years until Martin and Mike got me playing racketball about four or five years ago… and I’ve never looked back.  Unlike squash with racketball there is no out of bounds area at the bottom of the front wall to hit the ball above. Also the court’s walls, floor, and ceiling are legal playing surfaces, making it a very fast paced and exciting game, which has lead to it becoming the fastest growing racket sport in the UK.

After Martin and Mike got me hooked I introduced it to my local squash club and since then it has really taken off, so much so that next month my club will be hosting the first Scottish Open Racketball Championships.  Not only that, but this prestigious competition is sponsored by the finest holiday lodge and park home builder in the country – that’s right, it’s The Pathfinder Scottish Open Racketball Championship 2012!

The championships include Mens’ and Ladies’ open events with cash prizes, and age-group specific events as well. The closing date to enter is Sunday 15th April 2012, with the event taking place on 27-29th April 2012.

With a history stretching back to 1958 (the same year Pathfinder was established!) In January we appointed my brother, Dave, as National Sales and Marketing Manager and after two shows in three weeks you could definitely say he has hit the ground running!

At the Scottish Caravan and Outdoor Leisure Show in early February, the team sold two of our brand new home The View and at the The Motorhome Caravan & Camping Show at London’s Excel centre last week, more sales were added to the order book – which is great news!

With the launch of The View and a busy year of shows ahead it felt like the perfect time to bring my brother on board to head-up our sales team.  It’s important to us to measure the response to our new designs and the fact that we have sold two in two shows means that both The View and Dave have definitely got the thumbs up!
